Jim: So, we're done with our first iteration of our Easy Jobs project.
0:04
How do you think that iteration went?
0:08
Nick: I thought it went pretty well, I think it went pretty smoothly.
0:10
I went ahead and created the wire frames for the index view, the show view,
0:13
and the form views like the new and edit view.
0:18
And then I went ahead and created just some basic CSS to get the layout going
0:21
and get everything in the right places on the page.
0:26
Jim: Yeah, and I was able to get the git repository set up
0:29
and the Rails application generated and the first set of scaffolds done.
0:32
So, I think we have a pretty good sort of jumping off point, and hopefully,
0:36
you were able to get what you needed in time.
0:39
Is there anything that I could have done to make your process go any faster?
0:41
Nick: No, not really.
0:44
It was great when you went ahead and added the things that I needed
0:46
on the jobs model for the show view.
0:48
Was there anything I could have done better?
0:51
Jim: No, I think I got your designs.
0:54
I mean, I can't wait to see when we start getting into real visual stuff,
0:56
but yeah, the structure of everything looks great.
0:59
You were able to take the scaffolds and really structure them properly,
1:01
and the wireframes look really great.
1:05
I think there was one thing that we did come across, and I'll fix that.
1:08
On your machine, we forgot to set up the git configs,
1:11
so your commit messages don't have a name on them, but we can fix that.
1:14
That's not a big deal at all, but I'll fix that for the next iteration for you.
1:17
Nick: Cool, great, so what are we doing next?
1:20
Jim: It's difficult to say.
1:23
I think something I'd like to do is maybe think about authentication.
1:25
I don't know if we're going to be able to do that in the next iteration,
1:27
but maybe another thing I'd like to do is make it
1:30
so the URLs are a little bit cleaner or nicer to look at for the job postings.
1:33
Nick: I think next I'm going to definitely focus on making the site responsive.
1:38
So first, I'll probably go ahead and create a Photoshop mockup,
1:42
and I'll be able to get all of the fluid grid measurements from that
1:47
and then I can go ahead and put that into the CSS.
1:50
Jim: Cool, well, that sounds good.
1:52
Let's take a break and then later on we'll come back for our next iteration.
1:54
Nick: Sounds good.
