Python Python Basics (2015) Python Data Types String Formatting

can anyone help me with strings? Thanks

I'm having trouble writing this string. I keep getting the "Bummer!" result and I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

strings.py
name = "william"
subject = "Treehouse loves {}"
print(subject.format(name))

Hi there

You should do the string formatting and variable assignment all in one line, because your line 3 won't effect the value of subject variable.

name = "william"
subject = "Treehouse loves {}".format(name)

hope it helps.

thanks!
