Create a search box for propriety listings

Hi everyone! I am currently creating a sample real estate website to add to my portfolio. I would like to add a searchbox to select property type, price,and other features. Something like this http://zephyrsf.com/ would be great,but I have no idea how to build it .Do you think that a jquery plugin is sufficient or I just need to create it with PHP from scratch? Is there any course on Treehouse on a similar subject?

It totally depends what you're working with. Do you have a database or are you building from an array?
