$70 for sublime!!!

Forgive me for not reading the small print when downloading Sublime 2 but no one mentioned on this site that I might be happily doing my thing, when all of a sudden it demands $70 to carry on using it!!!! isn't there a free version? Iv almost had enough of this Treehouse lark.

you dont have to pay for it... you can keep on using it will simply keep coming up every now and then. Sort of like winrar. Its annoying when it comes up but just click not now or whatever and it will go away. Ive been using it for months for free. I guess if you like using it though you should support sublime. but you dont have to.

There are tons of truly free text editors out there. However most of the better text editors either cost money or will continue to ask for you to support them.

Unless something changed in version 3 it only prompts you to buy a license on save. I used it free for several months while I didn't have a job. However, within a month of getting a job I had a fully licensed copy. For any of you with jobs who are using it free just 'cause.. quit being a cheap ass! It's well worth the money. Plus, if too many people use it and don't pay for it the developer will have little reason to keep it updated.

thanks for the response.. its good to know i can keep using it... the reason I lost it there for a second was because i finished my code after it had asked for money, and it was at that moment that my browser refused to refresh... thought it was Sublime stopping me from using it lol. Its working fine again now .. thanx again:)
