A problem with accepting the answer git add README

The interface does not accept the answer to Challenge Task 1 of 3

git add README

This is the same command and construct thats been taught by the instructor and I have used locally.

Does the README have a file extension...like README.rdoc or README.md?

hiya Sandra Hogan ! Most of the README files have extensions of .md. So yeah try adding README.md to the staging area and you're good to go. (:
