Adobe Fireworks

Hey guys, last month I started learning Adobe Fireworks seeing all the good reviews it had and with people saying that it's better than Illustrator and Ps for designing websites.(Tbh i finished the courses from Adobe and I have to say that i'm loving Fireworks atm). My concern is that CS6 was the last of the line and, in time, it will become a thing of the past. Is this the reason why in the Design track from treehouse they focus only on Photoshop and Illustrator ? Is it still usable atm or is it already behind? And no. I can't use Sketch because i'm on Windows :).

Photoshop is for photos manipulation, Sketch & Illustrator are for vector graphics. A lot of people come from print world so they used the tool they already knew regardless of its intended purpose.

Fireworks was intended as a UI design tool. There's not anything that replaces it exactly.

There are quite a few clickable prototype apps:

Thank you for your answer, they all look nice at a first sight. But untill I will be able to make some extra time to learn one of them, do you think I can still rely on Fireworks?

There are a lot of web designers that still use it. Overtime Adobe will probably come up with something to replace it but I think for now you should stick with what you are comfortable with. Having the latest software is nice cause of the updates that make your workflow easier, but it is not always about what program you use, but the end result is top quality. I still use CS 5.5. I don't have the money for CC or to upgrade right now but I am still creating awesome designs with it.
