Adobe Illustrator CC Problem

How do i select specific multiple items with the shift key on adobe illustrator CC on a mac. Mines is not working for some reason. Is there a setting I have to change to activate it?

Just hold down shift while you click each item. You shouldn't have to mess with any settings. You can also click and drag over the group of items you'd like to select.

yeah I've already tried holding shift many times before, but it doesn't work. Hasn't work since i downloaded illustrator. I've been using the dragging feature, but sometimes background and other objects get in the way when I use it

Ok i figure it out. You have to hold command and shift together on illustrator CC. thanks for the help though

Glad you got it working. I use Illustrator CS5.5, so I thought they would be the same. Guess not.
