Ads for web application (making money from web app while keeping it free for users)

Hi, I would like to be able to make money from my web apps while keeping them free for users, so I applied for Google AdSense and my application got rejected due to 'insufficient content.' It seems AdSense is more interested in blogs than in web applications. A Google search brought up plenty of ad services for mobile apps, whereas I didn't find much useful information in the search results about putting ads on web apps.

It seems AdSense is the most well known service out there. I'm wondering what the chances would be for them to accept my application if I keep improving my apps, or if I should try another ad service, or if it's just unrealistic to expect to be able to make money from my apps while keeping them free to use.

I'm also curious why Google would reject my application. I thought it would just be more money for them and I'm not sure what harm it would do to Google to put ads on my apps.

If there are other ways of making money from web apps while keeping them free, I am interested in learning about them too-I just thought ads would be the most effective method.

Any thoughts/suggestions please?

I personally recommend Adsense, purely as it's such a large network and so easy to use. Why not create a personal blog, write a couple of lines a day for a week or talk about your Tree house experience learning to code. By Friday you can apply again. I was accepted with only two blog posts talking about setting up a CentOS server. Invest a couple hours. you won't regret it!

Hi William, thanks for your suggestion! I'm not really sure what I'd write that would interest people, but, well, maybe I'll try. :)
