Hi Juan, your "if else" logic is fine, so that's great. You got your {} and your code that goes inside them in the wrong places.

function max (a,b){  /* open curly brace */
  if (b > a){  /* conditional statement */
    return b; /* code within curly brace */
  }  else { /* conditional */
    return a; /* code within curly brace
  } 
} /* close the opening curly brace */
