After the adjacent sibling combinator, why did the teacher add the sibling 'label'?

I just don't get the point of the 'label'

label is the adjacent sibling that the selector is there to target. The point of the rule is to make the text of label elements that are adjacent to checked check boxes bold.

If he did not include the adjacent sibling selector then he would just be targeting the checkbox input itself, which is not the thing he wants to add the font-weight: bold property to.
