JavaScript JavaScript Basics (Retired) Creating Reusable Code with Functions Passing an Argument to a Function

Agrument

Challenge Task 1 of 2

Here's a simple challenge: create a function named returnValue() that accepts a single argument, then returns that argument. This isn't a useful function, but we want to make sure you know how to create a function that can accept information when it is called. Bummer! Did you add a parameter to the function declaration: function returnValue( str ) for example?

what so they mean by Str?

script.js
function returnValue ( )  {
  return
}
index.html
<!DOCTYPE HTML>
<html>
<head>
  <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8">
  <title>JavaScript Basics</title>
</head>
<body>
<script src="script.js"></script>
</body>
</html>

you need to put "str" inside the brackets.

then type "return str;"

altogether it should look like this:

function returnValue (str) { return str; }
