apt-get: command not found

I have been learning how to use the console and all was going swimmingly until I tried to use the apt-get command the following day and I get this response:

apt-get: command not found

It was working fine, now I seem to have a few of the apt files missing - not sure how this happened! Anyway I guess I need to do some sort of re-install, so I restored my Mac OS system software hoping this would help, but it made no difference.

So my question is, how can I restore my version of ubuntu to the version that I started out with?

Hi Matt,

Were you using the Treehouse Console or the Terminal on your Mac OS X?

The Advanced Package Tool (APT) is the one used on the Treehouse Console.

If you are using your Mac Terminal, I recommend using Homebrew

Hi John

Thanks for your reply I must have got in a muddle and thought I was on terminal on my mac, but thinking back I must have been connected to my web server. Such a muppet! - thanks again!

That's okay. I thought it sounded strange that you were using APT on your Mac Terminal.

Glad you're all sorted.
