8,798 PointsAre PHP videos in the library up-to-date?
I have nearly finished the PHP development track and am already thinking about what to go on to next... I see there are additional videos in the library that are not on the PHP development track - is there a reason for this?
Particularly I am interested in: 1) Build a simple PHP application and 2) Enhancing a simple PHP application.
I am a noob so am worried I wouldn't necessarily know that what I was learning was outdated. I wish there were dates on the courses to show when they were created/updated, this would be very helpful.
Cheers :)

22,986 PointsThe videos that aren't in the track are considered out of date, yes. The two courses you mentioned are of the same project called "Shirts4Mike", where you build and enhance an online store. The project doesn't take an object oriented approach, but does work directly with MySQL database connections etc - so there are pros and cons :)
It also covers things like apache rewrites, which are super useful to know. Perhaps you could be a total legend and follow along with the shirts4mike tutorial, but use Laravel or Slim!! Having said that, that would remove the requirement for playing with things like apache rewrites and MySQL.
I would give it a try and see if you like it :)

8,798 PointsHi Tom,
Thank you! I am not sure I am quite at 'total legend' status yet... one day perhaps ;) I think I am going to give the courses a try as I can probably learn something from them... but I will proceed with caution and refer back to the material on the track once I have completed to remind myself of what's current.
Ta very much :)
