Arrow Keys not working in Ruby Workspace IRB

For some reason that I can't figure out, whenever I press an arrow key in IRB in Workspaces it types a series of characters (ex: ^[[B) INSTEAD of actually moving the cursor. Is this a normal feature in IRB? It makes it incredibly hard to go back and edit code without using backspace to delete everything.
