Ruby User Authentication with Rails Password Hashing and Sign In Creating the Sessions Controller

authenticate method returns error

Hello,

In this quiz question:

Type the method that we would call on the user object to check the submitted password:

user = User.find_by(email: params[:email]) if user && user. (?)

I am writing the authenticate method as

if user && user.authenticate(params[:password])

But it fails. Why? What am I doing wrong? Any help?

I think it just ask me the method it self which is authenticate.
