Basic subscription and billing after trial!

Recently, I started using Treehouse and after my free trial I decided to upgrade it to basic. It cost me 25$ and afterwards I got a message , which obliged me to update my billing information, and after that , a second payment was made. The first payment is labelled "Upgrade to Basic. Pro-rata for remainder of billing period" , and I'm not sure what does it mean . Will I have 2 months of subscription or is this a mistake? Sorry for the quality of this text , but it's spontaneous due to the emotions attached to this matter. Concluding , I got charged 50$ during 4 days ,and I'd like to know whether it counts as two months , or my money is lost.
