Best SEO practices for a one page website.

I have read many articles on the pros and cons of parallax sites in reference to SEO and am not sure if a parallax site is practical right now. It is hard to resist the urge of building the site because they look so good, but bad SEO will defeat the purpose. Any input on this topic would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

You might want to retitle your thread to "Best SEO practices for a one page website." The SEO problems arise because most parallax sites are one page. Use of the parallax effect, to my knowledge, has no effect on SEO.

Thanks Colin for the reply. The title is updated and I will be looking through the links you added.

They certainly look trendy, just like blurry background images and flat design. However a good designer can make a lot of different things look good and isn't limited to imitating what's currently trending on the dribble.

I'd have thought that by using h2 tags through the sections, even if they're resized to look like normal text, will be a valid workaround to any SEO issues.

Not sure if this was mentioned in the articles, but if you had a blog separate from the "one-page" that might help things out SEO-wise.

Here's a blog post from a couple months ago that might help your considerations (summary at the end if you just want to skim): http://www.r2integrated.com/news/blog/parallax-scrolling-is-it-good-or-bad-for-seo
