Building First Website

I am having a hard time starting my first website because I have no idea where to start. Everyone talks about designing first but I have no clue where to start. Its really just a landing page for a fire spinning group. Can you help me fire out where to start?

I actually just went through "How to Make a Website" course on TreeHouse as a primer because the Front End Web and Web Design track were too much at first.

There may be quicker options - but that course was really well put together and presented. If I remember right, they even go through how to select a hosting service and buy a domain name.
