Can anyone help me understand why my Reveal Spoiler button is showing up twice?

Here is my app.js:

const $button = $('<button>Reveal Spoiler</button>'); $('.spoiler').append($button);

$('.spoiler span').hide(); $('.spoiler button').click(function () { $('.spoiler span').show(); $('.spoiler button').hide(); });

I verified that it is showing this exactly on the video tutorial but it's not working as it is with her

Hi, did you delete the original button in the html file? If you didn't the button would definitely appear twice.
