Can anyone please point out why I can't get the correct answer here? I have tried equals and equalsIgnoreCase.

I am not receiving a syntax error, did I miss something simple? Thank you for the help.

Equality.java
// I have imported a java.io.Console for you, it is named console.
String firstExample = "hello";
String secondExample = "hello";
String thirdExample = "HELLO";

if (firstExample.equalsIgnoreCase(thirdExample)) {

  console.printf("first and third are the same ignoring case");
}

You may have overlooked the part of the instructions that say "Important: In each task of this code challenge, the code you write should be added to the code from the previous task."

It looks like you're on task 2, but the task 1 code should still be there and it's missing.

You're correct. I simply overlooked those instructions. I didn't see those in the light gray text. Thank you!
