JavaScript JavaScript Basics (Retired) Creating Reusable Code with Functions Create a max() Function

can i get assistance with my code? not sure what i'm doing wrong here

Create a new function named max which accepts two numbers as arguments (you can name the arguments, whatever you would like). The function should return the larger of the two numbers.

script.js
function max( 12,25 ) {
  if (12<25) {
  return 25;
  }else return 12;
}

You're close, but when you define a function, the parameters must be names. The names represent the actual values that will be given to the function when it is called (used). But within the definition you will use these names instead of numbers.

The names can be anything you like as long as they follow the rules for variable names.

thanks Steven!

function max(higher, lower){ if (higher > lower){ return higher; } else { return lower; } } max(25,12);

The parameters, or arguments should be names. Create the logic below it. Afterward you will call the function and insert any numbers inside for the function to run.
