I don't mean to make life difficult. The reason the answer requires a colon is because all pseudo-classes require a colon, otherwise they won't work in the browser.

Seems like it wants the colon in there.

This is what I hate about typing in an answer. I answered the question correctly five times but add a colon in there is not part of the question. @guilh makes life difficult. Makes the site less user friendly and makes you want to go elsewhere to learn code. Hey if a teacher or site owner ever reads this why not consider making either the questions more clear like "enter the code" or making everything multiple choice. Instead I wasted hours on this quiz when I could have been learning something.

I agree with rydavim, the answer is :disabled

The correct answer may be :disabled, however, the video says "disabled" with no real emphasis on the colon being part of the naming structure or at least that is how I viewed it. I am not saying I am right but rather it would have been beneficial if the video pointed out the naming structure always includes the colon.

I would think having it expressed in a manner that using the colon is part of the name structure would make it clearer to students. As I mentioned in my previous comment I watched the video three times, maybe more than that in reviewing for the purpose of answering this question. I also have three pages of notes on my desk as well and not once did write down the name with the colon, nor did the response from the system, the one you get when an answer is wrong, did not state the syntax was wrong.

Now we all know code only works when it is exact (for the most part) yet we need to learn the exactness in order to apply it. Therefore I was a bit frustrated by the way the question is written or asked since it says "The ____________ pseudo-class selects UI elements that are in a disabled state.", since the syntax suggest the answer is "disabled." I did no think to write it within the colon.

I would think if you want the code the question might be asked somewhat differently. Such as "What is the code for the ___________ pseudo-class selecting Ul elements that are in a disabled state. Therefore the person taking the quiz would know to reply with the exact code.

I believe that when you consider that I am a student and am not experienced, and that needs to be taken into consideration when questioning. I certainly could understand the implied assumption if I had been doing this a number of years but not for two days. It may be helpful if the response system also would make a better hint as well.

Regardless, it is done now and am beyond it.

You are the best Guil. Sorry for the frustration yesterday. Trying so hard and it is SO NEW to me. Of course everyday business comes into play and other responsibilities. I think if I had it I would pay big bucks for an easy day!
