Cannot open Android Device Monitor

Receive the message "A JRE or JDK must be available in order to run Monitor. No java virtual machine was found after searching the following locations..." when launching Android Device Monitor. What steps do I need to take to fix this?

I don't really know Android, but the following link might be helpful:

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/38113596/android-device-monitor-not-found-jdk-path/42874880

If that doesn't help, try copying and pasting the error message into google and check out the search results. I bet someone else has encountered this error before.

sorry I couldn't help more specifically.
