Android Build a Simple Android App with Java Basic Android Programming Generating a Random Number

Cannot resolve nextInt()

When i type the following: int randomNumber = new randomGenerator.nextInt(3);

Android studio gives a cannot resolve symbol for nextInt(3). I cannot figure out why it is so.

Figured it out I was not supposed to use the keyword new

You are using randomGenerator instead of Random.

The code should be as follows. Note the use of Random() instead of randomGenerator()

int randomNumber = new Random().nextInt(3);
