Can't get img to load on browser. Just getting the text. What am I doing wrong??

I have the code identical to what the video says and the directory is correct for the img logo.gif file. What am I doing wrong. I've tried being more specific with the directory but still not working. On my desktop I have a file I named Coding and in it I have my index.html and the img file that contains the logo.gif. Here is my code...

<!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"/> <title>Smells Like Bakin' Cupcake Company</title> </head> <body> <img src"img/logo.gif" alt="Smells Like Bakin"> </body> </html>
