Can't get through this JavaScript task

function returnValue(number) { return number; } returnValue('My argument' + number); var echo = returnValue();

My first part passes but the next step also declines my first part by saying that "It looks like Task 1 is not passing"

script.js
function returnValue(number) {
  return number;
}
returnValue('My argument' + number);
var echo = returnValue();

You have an extra line of code in there:

returnValue('My argument' + number);

You also need to pass in the argument in the variable:

var echo = returnValue("Hello");
