Can't get to pass

I am not understanding this. I have tried different ways and I just can't get it to pass.

Program.cs
using System;

namespace Treehouse.CodeChallenges
{
    class Program
    {
        static void Main()
        {
            string input = Console.ReadLine();

            if (input == "quit")
            {
                string output = "Goodbye.";
            }
            else
            {
                string output = "You entered " + input + ".";
            }

           string output = Console.WriteLine(output);
        }
    }
}

Here's a few hints:

  • a variable should be declared before (or when) it is assigned
  • a variable should only be declared one time, but can be assigned any number of times
  • a variable should be declared in the outermost scope in which it is used
  • a variable cannot be declared and passed as an argument in the same statement
