Can't use actual numbers?

I could only pass task 1 when I used 'a' and 'b' instead of actual numbers - it said I had a syntax error when I used numbers. Could someone point out what I am doing wrong on task 2?

script.js
function max(a, b) {
  if (a > b){
    return a;
  } else {
    return b; }
}

alert( max( c , d) );

Hey Camille,

I checked the challenge and your code looks good; however, you should replace the letters 'c' and 'd' with actual numbers, then run the program to see it.

For an example: alert( max ( 2, 5 ) );
