JavaScript JavaScript Basics (Retired) Creating Reusable Code with Functions Passing an Argument to a Function

Challenge task - Functions and parameters

Here's a simple challenge: create a function named returnValue() that accepts a single argument, then returns that argument. This isn't a useful function, but we want to make sure you know how to create a function that can accept information when it is called.

this is my code:

function returnValue(a, b) { return (a * b); }

Im doing it wrong and I don't know what to correct.

script.js
function returnValue(a, b) {
 return (a * b);
}
index.html

Hi Daniel,

The challenge is asking for you to create a function with a single argument and return it whereas you're accepting two arguments and multiplying a by b, instead you just want the following.

function returnValue(a) {
  return a;
}

Thanks Chris for your help!
