Can someone explain, what's wrong with this?:
// 6: Change all <input> elements from text fields to checkboxes
document.getElementsByTagName('input').forEach(li => li.type = 'checkbox');

works with arrays. getElementsByTagName
returns a collection. Based on solutions provided in this stack overflow you could use the following:
[...document.getElementsByTagName('input')].forEach(li => li.type = 'checkbox');
