1,072 Pointscheck to see if a file exists or not - Android data persistence
I am stuck with this objective. Actually I tried many variations but I couldn't accomplish it. If anyone can help or give a clue, greatly appreciate.
this is the code chuck:
public static void saveAssetImage(Context context, String assetName) { File fileToWrite = new File(context.getFilesDir(), assetName); AssetManager assetManager = context.getAssets();
try {
InputStream in = assetManager.open(assetName);
FileOutputStream out = new FileOutputStream(fileToWrite);
copyResult = copyFile(in, out);
} catch(FileNotFoundException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
} catch (IOException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
}
} this is the code that I changed:
File fileToWrite = new File(context.getFilesDir(), assetName);
AssetManager assetManager = context.getAssets();
try {
InputStream in = assetManager.open(assetName);
FileOutputStream out = new FileOutputStream(fileToWrite);
if(fileToWrite.exist()){
}else{copyResult = copyFile(in, out);}
} catch(FileNotFoundException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
} catch (IOException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
}
}

13,809 PointsYou're just missing the 's' at the end of 'exist' so it is 'if(fileToWrite.exists())'.
