Colors?

I find it really hard to choose colors for a brand! I don´t even now where to begin and how to even know which color to start with and not least how to find the best shade, tint or tone. I don´t hear Matt talk about it either. Do anyone have some tip about how to think or maybe some resource where I should look and learn about it?

You know much about color theory?

No, not much but I have read about it a little bit. And what I know, that is only how to match colors with each other, is there something out there that explains how to match colors with a company (e.g. the first color you choose before you try to match it through color theory). And is there some resources out there that explains generally about colors in a company (e.g. how many to use, how much to use each one, and so on..)?

I agree with Kevin, You should look up color theory from artists by Kandinsky, Klee, Or start looking at designs in print and on the web.

Damir,

Here is a great blog post that might help you:

smashing magazine's blog on color theory

I'm not sure, why you mean by company, but Take a read, I think this will help.

Damir,

You may want to look at the Psychology of Colors for Marketing and Branding.

If you google search Psychology of Colors there will be a ton of available designs that can help you.

When coming up with colors for a brand or organization understanding how colors effect the feelings of others is important.

Wish you the best!
