Confused with classes in regards to when to use this. vs. this._ ?

Just getting a little confused, doesn't seem to be much difference between the two?

The special keyword this is used inside object methods to reference the current instance. On the other hand this._ would reference a specific property named "_" of the current instance (if it has one).

If it's still unclear, provide examples and/or references to where you have seen it used.
