convenience initializers . ?

hi all just for me to understand completely, why do we use convenience initializers . is it to give our object a default or two in our sub classes ? and if so why don't we give a default in our base class ?

its so you can call the init method for anywhere within your programs so you dont have to keep coding the same thing over and over again, i hope this is the answer you where looking for
