creating a boollean isnt it $bool = TRUE; var_dump($bool1)

There are two issues happening here.

$golden =1.618

is missing a semicolon at the end.

$bool = True;
echo var_dump($bool1);

Not that the value you're passing into var_dump is $bool1 and it should be $bool.
