Creating beautiful websites like these. What do we need?

Ok, so i'll try to explain myself the best i can. I would love to create great-looking website like these ones: https://www.googleforentrepreneurs.com/ http://paulvanoijen.com/ http://www.startcode.net/

Just to name a few examples. So i know i need Bootstrap, at least a basic understanding of JavaScript & jQuery...but question goes mainly around these topics:

1) Is there a tool web-designers use to know which colors to choose or combine? Like the Googleforentrepreneurs website or the same treehouse have great color choices, any suggestions?

2) Where can we find free images to use as background for the landing page?

3) How can i master Bootstrap / tutorials or courses you recommend? I already took the ones here at Treehouse but they seem to be very basic and i haven't found any course intended at designing websites like these.
