Now, put the int value 42 into SharedPreferences using the key "MeaningOfLife".
SharedPreferences mSharedPreferences;

mSharedPreferences = PreferenceManager.getDefaultSharedPreferences(context);

38,811 PointsYou have not initialized the editor variable. In your code snippet you have set the mSharedPreferences correctly, but you forgot to set the editor. After the mSharedPreferences, set the editor with the edit()-method on the SharedPrefereces object. The commit()-method must be called after you have saved something to shared preferences.
SharedPreferences mSharedPreferences = PreferenceManager.getDefaultSharedPreferences(context);
SharedPreferences.Editor editor = mSharedPreferences.edit();
editor.putInt("MeaningOfLife", 42).commit();
