Database information shows in scientific notation?

On the courses that use SQL I've noticed that the tables that have float or decimal values are returning in the tables in scientific notation; EX. AVG(reviews) returns 0.2884E1 instead of 2.884.

is there any particular reason it's doing this, or is this solely something related to teamtreehouse's? I get the challenge correct even though the answer returns in scientific notation.
