db.sequelize vs. db.Sequelize

I'm not really understanding the difference in this code. I know that Sequelize is the actual library, and sequelize is a single instance of that library within the app. But I don't understand what the purpose of this is:

db.sequelize = sequelize; //Add any new model to the `db` object
db.Sequelize = Sequelize; //Assign the Sequelize module to a `Sequelize` property in the `db` object
