Debugging - Logging or using debugger?

When finding bugs, should you use logging for tracing or the debugger(ddms) itself? For example, I usualy encounter NULL values and I usualy use logging to trace it and debug it.

Log messages and the debugger are both tools and each have their use. Where you'd use one over the other is situational. Generally though, you'd want to use the debugger to trace values because that's one thing it's really good at. Especially compared to manually placing logging calls up and down the call stack.
