Hello World!
I have just finished html and css basic courses, and before starting javascript I've decided to practise a little by making a website for a friend, and what seemed to be easy and intuitive when Guil was explaining how things work, now takes ages, or dont work at all ;p Bui i think it has to be this way in a beginning.
I want a big photo of my friend in a header, and menu bar in top right. I have created menu with <ul>, but when i hover over only text change color and i wanted entire button to change but no height: 100% or width 100% dont work. And i cannot get my <h1> heading to sort of invade pictures terrytoty ;p sorry but it's difficult for me to explain it in english the way I would like to.
Is there a way that i could show You my Atom workspace to show You my coding?
And about Atom...someone told me that this is the best free software, so I've downloaded it, installed this emmet and html preview but it's not working the way i expected. Is there a way to set it up they way treehouse workspaces work? I mean to close brackets for me and most importantly i loved this option where the program prompts the list with possible values. I have my notes and internet but at this stage, when I don't know all the values yet it consumes a lot of time to look for them in the internet. Or maybe You suggest not to use it as eventually this will slow down my defelopment?
How long did You build Your first website? :) and how complex was it? Also, should i play around with html and css or get to javascript right a way? And what courses should i choose to learn how to make menus, some nice picture and movie gallery, and build beaufifull websites with menus wherever i want and however i want :)
Thanks! Konrad

54,971 PointsTo share your work you could create a workspace then drag and drop your Atom files to the lower left corner. Save this then create a snapshot by clicking the camera icon in the upper right corner of the workspace, then 'Take Snapshot', then post the link created here.
I used Atom in the past but gave it up after an update broke the live server that allows you to preview your work similar to workspaces.
I would learn JavaScript now. No better time than the present and it is one of the big three for front end.
