Do I need to be good at Math to code?

I am attempting to teach myself how to do math but unfortunately, I am limited to only the very basics at the moment. I have always had great difficulty understanding mathematics, but I am determined to learn all that I can about the subject. I used to believe I hated mathematics, but now I am in love with the subject. Unfortunately, my understanding of Mathematics is very limited. I watch a lot of documentaries and read articles about Mathematics though, it fascinates me, I wish I understood it better than I do.

I wrote all that so you could know what my Mathematical background is and my current understanding of it.

I am interested in learning to code, I want to be able to code and program helpful software but I am concerned I may not be able to progress very far, because at this present time I am not very good at Math.

I hope to be able to participate in contests and competitions one day. Most of them consist of Mathematical problems though and I feel if I don't improve, I will never be able to solve any coding problem.

Am I over-thinking all of this? or, do my concerns have merit?
