What is the difference between event delegation and event bubbling?

231,172 PointsEvent delegation is a development strategy where you use a handler attached to a parent element to respond to events that occur on the child elements.
Event bubbling (also called "propagation") is the internal mechanism that causes child events to be detected by the parent element. It's what makes delegation possible.
