Full Stack JavaScript Techdegree Student 11,442 PointsHey David,
I can see how you could get confused with the wording of the challenge. The question is looking for you to set a property that will expand the flex items (in this case our items with .column) to fit the row (or parent). The justify-content property defines how the browser distributes space between and around flex items along the main-axis of their container. Now while setting justify-content will create spacing between your flex items depending of the value you assigned it's not what the question is looking for. It's looking for you to "expand the columns." So for that you're going to need to use a decoration that'll grow the flex items. In this case it's flex-grow.
.columns {
flex-grow: 1 ;
}
Here are some MDN links on flex-grow and justify-content if you want to read more about them.
I hope this helped you out! Keep up the work!
