Flood Filling in Illustrator?

I am trying the extra credit project in Adobe Illustrator Foundations, and this is what I have come up with so far:

http://englishteachertodd.com/wolf%20layout.pdf

Maybe I'm a little nervous about starting my first project, but I'm drawing a blank on how to start flood filling/coloring the drawing. Is there some kind of a paint bucket somewhere in Adobe that I can just use to start filling in the stripes of the shirt, the legs, etc.? I don't recall Mat saying anything about a paint bucket-like tool that will change fill colors in a drawing.

Also, I'm thinking that I want to make this a layout for a blog and am curious to know what file extension to save the drawing as (PDF? SVG? PNG? JPEG?) so that it looks great with whatever CSS I use to fill in the bottom where the blog writing would go. Any advice/recommendations would be awesome.

Thanks so much in advance for your help!

Sincerely,

Todd

I don't know about the main question but svg is much nicer to work with on the web so use that

I'm not sure how far you are in the Illustrator Foundations course, but there is a video under Adding Color and Type that addresses how to fill in shapes with color: http://teamtreehouse.com/library/illustrator-foundations-3/adding-color-and-type/painting-objects-and-adding-graphic-fills-2

Hi Joseph and Kristen,

Thanks for the replies! Both are incredibly helpful.

Kristen- I did watch this video, but wasn't sure if the flood fill tool for this video could be applied to cartoon-like drawings. In any case, I'll give it a whirl. =)

Thanks so much again,

Todd
