For whatever reason, I can't copy anything and paste it into my workspace. I use it online not downloaded.

Is there a setting preventing me from this function that I'm not finding?

You need to use the ctrl + x, ctrl + c, or ctrl + v.

What Russell said but for more detail, ctrl+c means to copy and ctrl+v is to paste it and the last ctrl+v is to cut it I believe.

If you are using online workspace then you might need to use ctr+c and ctr+v for any code you want. i suggest you to get good with Atom or Sublime Text. as Treehouse workspace is good but you might need to switch in future.
