How do I make the computer take data that is input from a form, perform calculations, then return a formatted one page document with the data that was just input and the solutions?

For example: User enters Qty and Price. An excel spreadsheet is returned with Value calculated.

You could use ruby's CSV library to achieve this http://www.sitepoint.com/guide-ruby-csv-library-part/
