found character that cannot start any token while scanning for the next token???

When adding

Default Setting

defaults: - scope: path: "" # an empty string here means all files in the project type: "posts" # previously post in Jekyll 2.2. values: author: Andrew Wiley category: programmer layout: "default"

I get back an error saying "found character that cannot start any token while scanning for the next token"

What am I doing wrong????

This should be correct, make sure your indentation is correct and you are using spaces to indent and not tabs as YAML does not support tab indentation.
