hey. i was wondering if there was a free alternative to Sublime Text, because i cant really afford the license. Also I dont want to get the free trial one because i might use it for more than a month. I'm running on a Mac. Thanks.

I used for about an hour, before I got a notification that I had to purchase a license to continue use. Perhaps, I downloaded the wrong version. But, in my experience it's not free for very long.
I use Text Wrangler as someone else mentioned. It's not as slick as Sublime, but it does the job.
Good luck!

When this pop up happens you just click 'cancel' and keep coding! :D

Python Web Development Techdegree Student 7,411 PointsHi Marty
Have a look at Brackets, it's an open-source code editor that was created by Adobe.
Hope this helps!

Courses Plus Student 7,225 PointsI agree with Johnathan - just keep using Sublime Text, it's free and in my opinion the best text editor to learn with and amazingly flexible/customizable for production. Just remember that when you start making websites/apps for clients - buy it. It's a minuscule amount of money when you think about how much it's going to make you.

15,805 PointsThat's the great thing about Sublime Text, use it, use it, use it some more. Get good, make money purchase it. It's like Adobe with their shifty downloads :/

15,805 PointsFor Mac I would recommend TextWrangler. Also available on the Mac App Store TextWrangler App Store.
Brackets as mentioned above is great too but still in a very early state.

5,654 PointsIt's worth mentioning that the free trial of Sublime Text has no expiration date. That said, it's probably good to eventually buy it if you decide to keep using it.
