Getting a parse error

I am trying to complete the challenge task. Have to create a 'max' function with two numbers as arguments. But when i try to do it as shown in the tutorial i get an error(Parse error)

script.js
function max(12 , 15 ) {

 }

Hi ash, sometimes I find it helps if I just take the challenge one step at a time. 1: create a function 2: name it max 3: use parameters (you used numbers not parameters) 4: use a conditional statement (if else in this case)

1 Answer

//Create a new function named max which accepts two numbers as arguments
function max(a, b) { //the function is named max, a and b are the parameters
// The function should return the larger of the two numbers.
// You'll need to use a conditional statement
  if (a > b){
    return a
  } else {
    return b
  }

}
